Why the Mirror Works
The audience learns about your protagonist not only by what they do, but also by how they contrast with someone similar.
The mirror reflects shared traits.
The differences highlight the stakes of the protagonist’s choices.
They make the theme personal : “This is what I’ll become if I don’t change.”
